Hello.

My name is John Figone, but most people call me “Fig”.

Currently, I’m a freelance Creative Director living in Los Angeles with my wife, daughter and black void (cat).

Educated in graphic design and marketing, I’ve worked most of my career in branding and marketing where I’ve been hired for creative direction, art direction, copywriting and design.

I have a range of experience in areas such as technology, travel, sports, entertainment, automotive, food and beverage, and more.

Over the years, I’ve been trusted with everything from 280 character posts to massive roll outs for the World Cup.

Recently, I helped Hotels.com transform their brand, created the NFL’s 100th Anniversary Super Bowl film, and helped debut Apple’s Trade In program.

Previously, I was a Creative Director on staff at TBWA Chiat Day. There, I created Airbnb’s “Live There” campaign, Adidas “All In Or Nothing” World Cup effort, and helped Gatorade evolve to “Win From Within”.

My work has been recognized by USA Today, Emmys, Clios, Effies, Cannes Lions, and even Lebron James.

I believe a brand’s promise should be embodied through identity and voice with product and experience playing a major role in how we relate to them.

A creative director should be able to create and execute a brand’s value and they should know how to build brand mythologies and engage consumers at every touch point.

I’m open to opportunities of all shapes and sizes– including the possibility of full-time.

Please reach out if you’d like to connect or talk about my work.
